The First Five Year Dermal Filler
Bellafill is a long lasting dermal filler implanted under the skin with a syringe. It’s a nonsurgical treatment used to plump and lift wrinkled, creased, and scarred areas of facial skin. Unlike other dermal fillers that dissolve within a few months, Bellafill creates a long lasting improvement in your skin. Tiny microspheres are suspended within a base of smooth collagen gel. Once injected, Bellafill immediately reduces the look of smile lines and acne scars. Over time, your body uses the microspheres to create a scaffold onto which your own collagen can develop. This collagen forms a foundation that adds volume to wrinkles and scars, reducing their appearance.
Bellafill is specially formulated to treat moderate to severe facial lines and wrinkles around the nose and mouth. It can also be used to treat moderate to severe, atrophic, distensible facial acne scars.
In a clinical trial, Bellafill was shown to work equally well on both male and female patients with a variety of skin types. If you have a history of severe allergies, have a known allergy to bovine collagen, are allergic to lidocaine, have a bleeding disorder, or are prone to thick scar formation, let your doctor know prior to treatment. Before receiving Bellafill, your healthcare provider will administer a skin test to determine whether you are allergic to any of Bellafill’s ingredients.
Your Bellafill session will take approximately 10-20 minutes depending on how many areas of the face are treated. Bellafill is not a surgical treatment, so there is no down time. You can return to your normal activities right away. However, you may experience some temporary swelling, bruising, or lumps at the treatment site. Keep in mind that these symptoms are temporary, resolving within 1 to 7 days.
You will see immediate results after receiving Bellafill injections.
For treatment of facial wrinkles and folds, Bellafill lasts up to five years. For the treatment of acne scars, Bellafill lasts for up to one year.
