Xeomin Treats Frown & Facial Lines
Xeomin is a prescription neurotoxin medication that is injected into muscles to temporarily improve the look of moderate to severe facial lines. It works by blocking the release of chemicals that cause muscle contractions, resulting in softer facial creases. Xeomin is made through a unique precision manufacturing process that isolates the therapeutic components of molecules and removes inactive accessory proteins. The result is a highly purified and potent neurotoxin.
Xeomin is used to reduce the appearance of frown lines between the eyebrows.
When you squint or frown, the muscles between your eyebrows contract, causing the skin to furrow and fold. Over time, as your skin ages and loses some of its elasticity, these repeated contractions can cause persistent frown lines. Botulinum toxin type A – the active ingredient in Xeomin – acts on nerve endings in muscles to prevent muscle fibers from contracting. By reducing these contractions, Xeomin can temporarily reduce the lines between your eyebrows.
Xeomin is a safe and effective treatment for adult men and women of all ages. It is particularly helpful for people who want to avoid invasive surgical procedures. Do not take Xeomin if you are allergic to botulinum toxin or any of the other ingredients in Xeomin. You should also not take Xeomin if you have had an allergic reaction to any other botulinum toxin product or have a skin infection at the planned injection site.
During treatment, which usually takes about 10-20 minutes, your doctor will inject Xeomin into the muscles in your forehead. No anesthesia is required, but your physician may use a topical anesthetic or cold pack to reduce any discomfort.
After your Xeomin treatment, you can immediately resume regular activities.
You may begin to see visible smoothing as early as 3-4 days after injection. Maximum results appear within 30 days. Xeomin typically lasts 3 months, but it may last significantly longer depending on your body chemistry.
